Maddie is doing great with her vision therapy. She is really improving but will probably be a few years before we get her eyes to work normally.
However her tics are really getting bad! It was so bad tonight that my husband noticed all on his own and came and told me to go look at her. This never happens, he is usually in perpetual denial. I'm going to talk to her teachers tomorrow and see if it is as bad in school as it is at home. We are not doing any meds for it yet and I am hoping we don't have to. Side effects from the drugs are sometimes worse then the symptoms.
I asked her if she was stressed and she said she didn't know. She wanted to know what stress was and how she would know if she had it or not. She said that maybe the tests at school were stressing her but that she didn't think so. They are doing ITBS. Maddie can't do timed testing & I got them to let her put the answers on the paper and not have to fill out all those little dots. After the tests are done they are supposed to be letting her go back and finish the parts she didn't get done. They haven't been doing that this week. Beings Maddie can't see well especially after a lot of eye strain I am sure she isn't getting all the tests done and that is probably getting to her even if she doesn't realize it. She is also coming home with bad headaches from all the extra eye strain.

She also suffers from Binocular vision disorder, supression of binocular vision, and accommodative insufficiency. All eye disorders that make it very hard to see things close up. Glasses will not help - her vision is 20/20 but her eyes do not work together so she does not see the same thing though each eye like the rest of us do. Because of the SID it makes treatment of the vision very difficult.

She loves goth, punk, black, and skulls. She also loves all animals. She is way to smart for her own good. One of her favorite t-shirts says "high maintenance low tolerance" After I told her what the words meant she laughed and said "All SID kids need one of these."

Chloe is 5. She is a huge baby. Still wants mom to carry her everywhere. We call her the mommy hog. She loves a good movie. She loves to "bump" into her sister because she knows it will make her crazy. She is very shy. She likes animals but not as much as her sister. Loves computer games. Is very imaginative and tells herself made up stories before bed at night. (this also drives her sister crazy because she will do it loud enough that Maddie can hear her a room away.) She also makes up stories to go with the artwork you all send her.
